The marine-anthropocene.com, started August 2017, is a website dedicated to bringing light to research into the impact of human activity on the marine ecosystem. It will also provide personal opinions on marine conservation and future directions for the field
The oceans are vital for the overall health of the global ecosystem as well as many human communities that rely upon the marine ecosystem for food and economical support. We already know that the oceans are vulnerable to climate change, pollution and over exploitation, and yet the true consequences of human activity remain largely unknown. Providing the findings, of often complicated research, in an easy to read and approachable manner (as this website attempts) is necessary in the education of those who have not received formal training, and will hopefully inspire to others to engage in behaviour that may help protect the marine ecosystem..
